Rich fudgy and completely vegan, these chocolate hummus brownies are the ultimate healthy treat. Made with hummus, peanut butter and walnuts, they’re gluten free indulgent and packed with seriously good flavour.
1. Prepare the brownie batter Place the hummus in a large mixing bowl. In a saucepan melt the chocolate over low heat then stir in the peanut butter until smooth and creamy. Pour the chocolate peanut butter mixture into the hummus and stir until fully combined. Add the date molasses, baking powder and chopped walnuts then mix until the batter is well incorporated.
2. Bake the brownies Pour the brownie batter into a lined baking tray and smooth the top. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
3. Make the tahini chocolate sauce While the brownies bake mix the tahini with warm water stirring until smooth. Gradually add more water if needed to reach a pourable consistency. Stir in the peanut butter or date molasses followed by the cacao powder. For a warm drizzle gently heat the mixture.
