Hummus with a Purpose

ChicP was born from a love of food, a hatred of waste and an obsession with hummus.

Our founder, Hannah, was working as a private chef when she saw just how much perfectly good food was being thrown away, big, beautiful wonky vegetables that weren’t supermarket-pretty enough to make the cut. So, she did what any food loving, planet saving, hummus obsessed human would do… she blended them into something delicious.

That’s how ChicP started: one woman, a lot of surplus veg and a mission to make food waste a thing of the past.

The Beginning

ChicP was founded by Hannah, a passionate chef and advocate for sustainability. While catering across the UK and Europe, she saw firsthand the sheer amount of food that was being wasted, perfectly good ingredients discarded simply because they didn’t fit supermarket standards. Determined to make a change, she started rescuing surplus vegetables from London’s wholesale markets and turning them into fresh, vibrant hummus.
